The Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival (TIDAF) is an arts festival with Deaf Japanese individuals at the forefront. The event was previously the Tokyo International Deaf Film Festival, held every two years in Shibuya, inviting directors and actors from both Japan and overseas.

This November 2025, the Tokyo International Deaf Film will move its base to Koenji and begin anew as the Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival. The festival is scheduled to take place one week before the Deaflympics from Thursday, November 6th to Sunday, November 9th, 2025, over four days.

The arts festival will focus on a variety of performances and films showcasing Deaf/Hard of Hearing experiences and sign language from Japan and abroad. By sharing the perspectives of those who perceive the world visually, the festival aims to contribute to the development of Deaf arts and a flourishing society. Additionally, the creation of open spaces such as the Marché and Fringe Program will provide opportunities for dialogue and communication between Deaf and hearing communities.

From 2025, we will continue to hold the Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival every three years as an international Deaf arts festival to promote an inclusive society, provide opportunities for all to experience visual and body arts, and build sign language spaces for the Deaf community. We hope that this opportunity to see novel and cutting-edge theatre from the perspectives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, and providing a platform to nurture Deaf arts within the Deaf community will result in an artistic festival that stimulates new ideas and builds new interactions between everyone.

For individuals, donations start at ¥10,000 per contribution. Multiple contributions are welcome. We will list your name (or a nickname of your choice) on our official website and publication, with your consent. You will also receive a special (exclusive) sticker as a token of our appreciation.

Upon receiving the form, we will send you a confirmation email and invoice.

Upon confirmation of your payment, the Deaf Arts Society of Japan will send you a receipt.
